Electrical work in Tuscany
Tuscany was built from the late 1990s through the 2000s, on the western edge of NorthWest Calgary. The community is now at the age where original electrical equipment starts entering the conversation — not failing, but no longer beyond discussion.
The pattern here is first-time panel conversations. Homes built with 100-amp services are being asked to run finished basements, air conditioning, hot tubs and cars, often all at once. That’s usually fine until the day it isn’t, and the honest answer is a load calculation rather than a guess.
Two other things are specific to Tuscany:
Large lots and long exterior runs. More detached garages, longer driveways and bigger yards than the denser newer communities. That makes exterior lighting, garage circuits and outdoor outlets a much larger share of what we do here than elsewhere.
Commuter households. Tuscany’s rail connection means a lot of households that commute without a car, and a lot that have switched to electric. EV charger demand here runs ahead of the housing stock’s capacity, which is exactly the combination that makes the panel assessment worth doing first.
Response times
Tuscany is further west than most of the communities we cover, so it’s a slightly longer drive from our base than Coventry Hills or Panorama Hills. Still comfortably within our regular coverage, at any hour.
